2007 Rugby World Cup
The 2007 Rugby World Cup was the sixth Rugby World Cup, a quadrennial international rugby union world championship inaugurated in 1987. Twenty nations competed for the Webb Ellis Cup in the tournament, which was hosted by France from 7 September to 20 October, and won by South Africa, who defeated the holders, England, at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, Paris.

Western Force is a rugby union team based in Perth, Western Australia playing in the international Super 14 competition. It commenced competing in the 2006 season and finished with the wooden spoon in their first year, however its performances greatly improved in 2007. In 2008 they finished in 8th and just missed out on the finals again. The team is the fourth Australian team to be accepted into the competition. It is coached by former New Zealand All Blacks coach, John Mitchell.
