Lions (Super rugby franchise)
The Lions, known as the Cats through the 2006 season, are a South African rugby union franchise that competes in the Super Rugby competition. They have not achieved great success in this competition, finishing at the bottom of the table three times (in 1998, 2003 and 2004). Jake White (born 19 March 1963 in Johannesburg as Jacob Westerduin ) is a rugby union coach and former coach of the South Africa national rugby union team, the Springboks. Order of Mapungubwe
Order of Mapungubwe is South Africa's highest honour. It was instituted on 6 December 2002, and is granted by the president of South Africa, for achievements in the international area which have served South Africa's interests. The order originally had three classes, and was enlarged to four in 2004 Platinum (OMP), for exceptional and unique achievements, Gold (OMG), for exceptional achievements, Silver (OMS), for excellent achievements, Bronze (OMB), for outstanding achievements.

2006 Super 14 season
The 2006 Super 14 season started on Friday February 10 2006. The Grand Final was held on Saturday May 27 2006. Super 14 is a provincial rugby union competition with 14 teams from New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. This season was the first of the expansion, which saw two new teams, the Western Force and the Central Cheetahs, join the Super 12/14. The addition of two new teams led to the name change from the Super 12. It was also the first year for a new Super 14 trophy.

Urban Trash is a satirical South African comic strip created by Jeremy Nell, originating on 14 March 2005. It focuses on the exploits of urban street life in and around South Africa, and features a regular cast of characters, and is regularly published across South Africa, and in parts of Namibia and England. Urban Trash appears daily from Monday to Saturday, and one Sunday strip per month is created.

The Platinum Classic is a golf tournament on the Sunshine Tour. It was founded in 1995, and is played at the nine hole Mooinooi Golf Club, North West Province, South Africa, although the first event had to be moved to Rustenburg when the greens at Mooinooi were vandalised.The tournament is currently held in October every year, with a prize fund in 2008 of R705,000.
