MessagePad
MessagePad was the first series of personal digital assistant devices developed by Apple Computer (now Apple Inc.) for the Newton platform in 1993. Some electronic engineering and the manufacture of Apple's MessagePad devices was done in Japan by the Sharp Corporation. The devices were based on the ARM 610 RISC processor and all featured handwriting recognition software and were developed and marketed by Apple. The devices ran the Newton OS.

Newton OS
Newton OS was the operating system for the Apple Newton PDAs produced by Apple from 1993 - 1997. Newton OS was written entirely in C++ and trimmed to be low power consuming and use the available memory efficiently. Much like the first Apple Macintosh a lot of applications were written in the ROM of the Newton to save DRAM and flash space for user applications.

Polyworld
Polyworld is a cross-platform (Linux, Mac OS X) program written by Larry Yaeger to evolve Artificial Intelligence through natural selection and evolutionary algorithms. It shows a graphical environment using the Qt graphics toolkit and OpenGL, in which exists a population of trapezoid agents which search for food, mate, have offspring, and prey on each other.

Larry Steven Yaeger (1950) is a former Apple Distinguished Scientist and is currently Full Professor of Informatics at Indiana University Bloomington. Outside of academia he is best known for designing the handwriting recognition software used in the Apple Newton and Inkwell. Yaeger's current research focuses on the evolution of true artificial intelligence through natural selection. He is the lead developer of Polyworld.

Beanblossom, also spelled Bean Blossom, is an unincorporated town in Jackson Township, Brown County, Indiana. The town was named for the nearby Beanblossom Creek, which was in turn named for a person whose surname was Beanblossom.Bean Blossom is perhaps best known as home to the Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park and Campground, a 55-acre wooded campground which for more than 50 years has hosted mostly country and bluegrass music performances, first at the Brown County Jamboree Barn and currently at the outdoor stages.
