Stephen Nickell
Stephen John Nickell CBE (b. 25 April 1944) is a British economist and currently Warden of Nuffield College, Oxford.Nickell was educated at Merchant Taylors' School, Northwood and Pembroke College, Cambridge.From 1965 until 1968 he was a mathematics teacher at Hendon County School.

Iraq Study group (ISG), was a ten-person bipartisan panel appointed on March 15, 2006, by the United States Congress, that was charged with assessing the situation in Iraq and the US-led Iraq War and making policy recommendations. It was first proposed by Virginia Republican Representative Frank Wolf.The Iraq Study Group was facilitated by the United States Institute of Peace, which released the Iraq Study Group's final report on their Website on December 6, 2006.

The death of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milošević in The Hague, where he was being tried for war crimes at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, caused a stir and was a major political event, especially for Serbia. 2006 Italian football scandal (Italian more common namesCalciopoli or Moggiopoli, sometimes referred to as Calciocaos) involved Italy's top professional football leagues, Serie A and Serie B. The scandal was uncovered in May 2006 by Italian police, implicating league champions Juventus, and other major teams including Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio, and Reggina when a number of telephone interceptions showed a thick network of relations between team managers and referee organisations.

The Islamic Courts Union (ICU) (, , Ittihād al-mahākim al-islāmiyya) was a group of Sharia Courts who united themselves to form a rival administration to the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) of Somalia, with Sharif Sheikh Ahmed as head of the ICU. They are also known as the Joint Islamic Courts, Union of Islamic Courts (UIC), Supreme Islamic Courts Council (SICC) or the Supreme Council of Islamic Courts (SCIC).
