Minority languages of Sweden
Sweden formally declared five minority languages of Sweden:Finnish, Sami language, Romani, Yiddish, and Meänkieli (Tornedal Finnish). Sweden has no official language but Swedish is the national language and de facto official language of the country, dominating commercial and cultural life. The minority status is given to minor languages to protect cultural and historical heritage.

Barbro Holmberg (born April 7, 1952, Stensele, Lappland, Sweden) is a Swedish Social Democratic politician. On October 10, 2003 she was appointed Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy in the Swedish Government. As a consequence of the 2006 government election she left office on October 6 2006.She has a degree in social work from the Department of Social Work, Stockholm University.

Lars Christopher Gillberg (born 19 April 1950) is a professor of child and adolescent psychiatry at Gothenburg University in Gothenburg, Sweden, and an honorary professor at the Institute of Child Health (ICH), University College London. He has also been a visiting professor at the universities of Bergen, New York, Odense, St George's (University of London), San Francisco, and Strathclyde.
