Widlar current source
A Widlar current source is a modification of the basic two-transistor current mirror that incorporates an emitter degeneration resistor for only the output transistor, enabling the current source to generate low currents using only moderate resistor values. The Widlar circuit may be used with bipolar transistors, MOS transistors, and even vacuum tubes. An example application is the 741 operational amplifier, and Widlar

Protein subcellular localization prediction
Protein subcellular localization prediction involves the computational prediction of where a protein resides in a cell. Prediction of protein subcellular localization is an important component of bioinformatics-based prediction of protein function and genome annotation, and it can aid the identification of drug targets.

Memory bound function
Memory bound refers to a situation in which the time to complete a given computational problem is decided primarily by the amount of available memory to hold data. In other words, the limiting factor of solving a given problem is the memory access speed. The application of memory bound functions could prove to be valuable in preventing spam, which has become a problem of epidemic proportions on the Internet.

Trefoil knot fold
trefoil knot fold is a protein fold in which the protein backbone is twisted into a trefoil knot shape. "Shallow" knots in which the tail of the polypeptide chain only passes through a loop by a few residues are uncommon, but "deep" knots in which many residues are passed through the loop are extremely rare.

SgrS RNA
SgrS is a 227 nucleotide small RNA that is activated by SgrR in Escherichia coli during glucose-phosphate stress. The nature of glucose-phosphate stress is not fully understood, but is correlated with intracellular accumulation of glucose-6-phosphate. SgrS helps cells recover from glucose-phosphate stress by base pairing with ptsG mRNA (encoding the glucose transporter) and causing its degradation in an RNase E dependent manner.
