Michel Suleiman
Michel Suleiman or Sleiman (, born 21 November 1948) is the current President of Lebanon. Before assuming office as President, he held the position of commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces. After LAF commander Émile Lahoud took office as president in November of 1998, Suleiman succeeded him, taking his place in December. Suleiman was later elected President and was sworn into office on May 25, 2008.

This Agreement marks the end of an 18-month long political crisis in Lebanon.After battles broke out in Lebanon because of the ongoing political crisis, Qatar's prince Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani invited all Lebanese political parties to its capital Doha to seek an agreement, in order to end the ongoing political crisis and avoid an eventual civil war.

Samir Kuntar (, also transcribed Sameer, Kantar, Quntar, Qantar) (born July 20, 1962 in Abey, Lebanon), is a Lebanese Druze militant and a former member of the Palestine Liberation Front. On April 22, 1979, at the age of 16, he participated in the attempted kidnapping of an Israeli family in Nahariya that resulted in the deaths of four Israelis and two of his fellow kidnappers.
