February 13, 2007 Bikfaya bombings
The February 13, 2007 Lebanon bombings were two blasts on buses near Bikfaya, Lebanon which killed three and injured 21. The bombings heightened tensions in the country following the Cedar Revolution, and on the eve of the two-year anniversary of the assassination of Rafik Hariri.

Doueir (Arabic:al-Dwayr), or Dweir, is a village of 7,500 inhabitants in Southern Lebanon near Nabatiyeh and north of the Litani River. Although Doueir is a small village, it is the home of many well-known Lebanese such as former Labour minister Ali Qanso, Mahdi Kanso, and Rammal Rammal.

Sheikh Dr. Fathi Yakan (February 9, 1933 - June 13, 2009) was an Islamic cleric who held a seat in the parliament of Lebanon in 1992. He was born in Tripoli. He was among the pioneers of the Islamic movement in the 1950s and the head of the Islamic Action Front (Lebanon). He initiated a political effort between Prime Minister Fouad Siniora and his allies on the one hand and the opposition in a bid to end the rule crisis in the wake of the 2006 Israeli war on Lebanon.

Mamdouh Ismail () is an Egyptian defence attorney and a former member of "the Jihad group" (later called Egyptian Islamic Jihad), who since the 1980s has represented various Egyptians accused of terrorism offences in Egypt. He was arrested himself on 29 March 2007 and is now accused of complicity in an "Egyptian project" of al-Qaeda, taking his orders from Ayman al-Zawahiri via Muhammad Khalil al-Hukaymah (al-Qaeda propaganda chief) and Hani al-Sibai (publicist for Egyptian Islamic Jihad).
